Yeah, I downloaded that one and the B4UFLY from the FAA. The DVI one is much more user friendly. The FAA one said I was within 5 miles of an airport. Found out it meant a nearby hospital with a helicopter landing pad that is 4.5 miles away. I don't think they will have a problem with me.

Not nearly as much. But it is a bit of a complicated (and selfish) reasons why.

I thought I had it sold last year, but the guy backed out. I would sell for the right price.

I'd like to try to get some pics like that. How hard is it to land a "carrier based drone?" I was thinking of just bringing it down to hover mode and just grab the landing gear and shut it down,

I have a DJI Phantom and I actually prefer to "catch" land my drone especially if I'm on the boat or don't have a solid surface to land on. It's easy to do by yourself and even easier if a second person can catch it while you shut down the motors.

Thanks for the heads up. Glad I was thinking right. I guess that would be a good thing to practice on dry land first.

I have another question. Looking outside at our weather today, can you fly a drone in the snow??

I've never flown mine in the snow and I seem to remember somewhere that DJI doesn't recommend it because of the moisture getting into the motors. I have flown mine in the winter before but not for long periods of time. If you do, I've been told not to recharge the battery until it warms up. From what I understand, the LiPo batteries can act a little goofy in the cold weather so hover the drone for a minute or two prior to taking it 400 feet off the ground.
